Netflix is not done with Hawkins yet. Before the final season of Stranger Things reaches its conclusion, the streamer is releasing One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5. The documentary debuts January 12, 2026, and is directed by Martina Radwan. It promises an inside look at the years of craft behind the Duffer Brothers’ final season.
The announcement came with a statement from Netflix calling the fifth season a “generational moment.” The documentary is produced by Angus Wall, Terry Leonard, Kent Kubena, and MakeMake Productions. Radwan spent a full year on set, according to her own note about the experience.

“Spending a full year on set with them was a true privilege — and an absolute thrill.”
Why it matters
The Stranger Things series has been a defining title for Netflix’s original content strategy. A making-of documentary signals that the streamer wants to build anticipation for the final season and preserve the show’s cultural footprint.
The Duffer Brothers’ legacy
The Duffer Brothers built a global franchise from a small-town supernatural story. Season 5 is expected to be the final chapter. This documentary will likely serve as a bridge between the existing audience and the climactic episodes, giving fans context for how the story evolved.
